My problem is I cant figure out how to get the graphics card

nVidias drivers from there web site for it to work well (i.e. run 3d
games, etc). That was pretty easy. This time though its a savage/IX
and I don't know where to go or what to do.

Are you still using Fedora? From what Google turns up for me, it should autodetect it and use it just fine. The Savage/IX (8c12 and 8c13) both the default "savage" Xorg driver which Fedora should be able to autodetect just fine.

What specifically do you mean by "graphics card working"? Does X come up at all, or does it stay in text mode? Did the graphical installer work? Does "system-config-display" work, and what graphics card does it say you have?
