Yeah, getting plugins on a Free Linux distribution is a little bit
more involved than what you are used to.  See if this website helps:

Not usually, just some sites have bad links to the plugins

Sometimes the pages don't include the correct links to the plugins you need.

This page will get you all of the common plugins:
https://pfs.mozilla.org/plugins/

After you download all of the plugins you want close firefox and (not necessary, but to be on the safe side) run either of these:
   killall firefox
   killall `locate firefox | grep /usr/bin | cut -d'/' -f4`

When you reopen firefox it should work correctly.
