Probably that my memory was bad and that you need to install libapache-mod-php5 instead of libapache-mod-php. :)
By the way, you can use aptitude search <searchterm> to look up packages (see the man pages for details). If you want to view details on a specific package, use aptitude show <packagename>. Or, if you'd rather, you can use apt-cache search and apt-cache show. They work the same way. :)On 10/30/06, Josh Ricker < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:I decided that I would stick with Apache 1.3. E: couldn't find libapache-mod-php
What does this mean?

When I ran an update last week I noticed that an etc/apache2 folder showed up on my machine. Should I migrate to Apache 2 and then install the PHP modules?

I know that my problem is common, but I haven't been able to come up with a solution from the net that will work. When I view a .php file on my site, it asks me if I want to save the file or open it, instead of the server processing and serving it up to the browser. I recently ran an update with aptitude and used apt-get to get PHP5 installed on my machine.
Any help would be appreciated! thanks.
