Thursday to learn the basics of DNS, client and server. All your
problems will be solved. Now featuring TTL, TXT, SRV, AAAA, and a pony!
Client Configuration and Troubleshooting:
* /etc/nsswitch.conf /etc/hosts /etc/resolv.conf
* nslookup, host, dig, getent
* UDP vs TCP
Server Configuration and Troubleshooting:
* named.conf and zone files
* resource record types
* troubleshooting
* q&a as time permits
We'll be meeting in the usual room, Crabtree 340, at 7:30pm. Come at
7:00 for general discussion. Note that the website will say 7:00 even
though we won't start the meeting until 7:30.
