Updated 10-6-2000 Now with Web page
integration options for hosting a server
and connecting to various channels from a
Web site and command line options.
Previous Information Team Sound provides
free telephone quality voice
communications over the Internet Whether
you re a hard-core Internet game player
someone who needs an Internet phone or
just want to talk to several friends
while you surf Team Sound has all the
features to provide the voice connection.
All you need is a supported sound card
microphone and speakers attached to your
computer. I had to take this small
program home with me to give it the
ultimate test. I got online and had some
of my friends from clans T.A.C. and SMP
install the software and set it up
according to the instructions found on
the Web site. Being familiar with
programs like Roger Wilco and Battlecom
my clanmates were optimistic on whether
it would lag our on-line gaming
experience while using Team Sound. I got
everyone setup up with the correct
settings for Rogue Spear. Since many of
our clan members have a cable connection
to the Internet it was easy to have
someone host the chat program while
someone else hosted the game. After
working out a few minor bugs we were off.
We were all surprised at the phone
quality sound that Team Sound produced.
But how would it fare in the game. Read
further to find out. The first test runs
proved to be exciting. No lag for anyone
using Team Sound. The program seemed to
lag about a half of a second but Rogue
Spear never lagged. As we continued to
play still no lag and we never got dumped
out of either Rogue Spear or TeamSound.
One thing we did notice is when more than
1 person tried to talk it distorted out.
But after talking with Team Sound
representative Allen Drennan I found out
the following Our focus in designing Team
Sound was to avoid the reliability issues
