Svecanom otvaranju Centra prisustvovali su britanski vojni izaslanik u Beogradu Vitek Novoselski, nacelnik Vojne akademije general-potpukovnik Ljubisa Stojimirovic i drugi gosti.

Dan Instituta ratne vestine, 10. oktobar, svecano je obelezen u Beogradu u prisustvu predstavnika jedinica, ustanova i organizacijskih celina Saveznog ministarstva odbrane i Generalstaba Vojske Jugoslavije.
Znacajan oblik angazovanja naucnog kadra instituta jeste i ucesce u realizaciji nastavnog procesa Vojne akademije, posebno poslediplomskog usavrsavanja.

Pripadnici brigade VOJIN obelezavaju svoj praznik,
12 oktobar.

October 10th - the Day of the War Skill Institute, was formally celebrated in Belgrade. The celebration was attended by the members of the YA units, facilities, Yugoslav Defence Ministry and Yugoslav Army General Staff.
Expert scientific work in the field of warfare and armoured fight was institutionalised in the YNA in 1977, when the Strategic Research and Study Centre was formed, later Strategic Research Institute. Ultimately in 1992, with the transformation of the YNA into YA, this institution was renamed the War Skills Institute.
War Skills institute was intended for the realisation of fundamental and applied research and studies in the field of war skills for the needs of the Yugoslav Army General Staff and Yugoslav Defence Ministry. Over the last period, the Institute was in charge of preparation and realisation of a large number of projects, among which ten macroprojects of federal importance.
The research resulted in a large number of studies, analyses and monographs that were used in educational process and scientific research in the Yugoslav Army.
Members of the Institute participate in scientific conferences organised by relevant civilian institutions on regular basis. An important form of engagement of the institute staff is the participation in the realisation of the educational process of the Military Academy, especially post-graduate advanced studies. During 2001 and 2002, the Institute was organiser and co-organiser of several important domestic and foreign conferences, amongst which "Partnership for Peace and FR Yugoslavia", "Civilian control of armed forces", "Professionalisation of the Yugoslav Army" and "Security challenges in Southeast Europe - ways of building stability and trust".

Members of the Yugoslav Army Air Force Corps conducted a tactical drill Autumn 2002 yesterday. The drill was completed successfully and on time, although the parachute units were not able to carry out all the scheduled tasks due to unfavourable weather conditions.

Members of the Early Warning Control and Reporting System units are celebrating October 12th - the Day of their unit. On this day, ten years ago, this brigade was formed whose beginnings can be traced to June 12th 1992 - the day when the Yugoslav Defence Ministry reached a decision to form the Brigade and Battalion command. A formal ceremony on the occasion of this day was held in Stari Banovci, with a tactical and technical meeting and the presentation of a ten-year development of this unit. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Air Defence Corps Command Major General Milinko Grbovic, his aides and many other guests.

127th class of Military Academy students are taking their solemn oath tomorrow in the barracks of Banjica.

Belgrade borough of Rakovica will mark its Day on October 14th when the representatives of the Borough Assembly and other social organisations will be laying wreaths on the memorial tablet of the YA soldiers who died on Strazevica. This year the route of the race will be slightly altered because the organisers want the competitors to pass by the memorial tablet on Strazevica, thus paying tribute to the defenders of the country.

"Posava's knot of survival", a book written by a group of authors has been presented today in the YA Central Club.

Tonight's "Quill and Sword", broadcast by Art TV Fridays at 8.15 p.m., features some of the activities of the YA Central Club. This special feature show brings the report on the officers' fencing society, dance course, gusle society, art group etc.
