PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN MONTENEGRO HELD YESTERDAY
THE MAJORITY DID NOT VOTE - THE ELECTIONS WILL BE REPEATED

Podgorica - The presidential elections in Montenegro have not succeeded
because less than half of the registered voters turned out - this was
announced by non-governmental organizations Center for Monitoring (CEMI)
and Center for Democratic Transition (CDT).

According to the data of the NGOs, 209.800 voters turned out, which is
45,9% of the total number of recorded voters. Filip Vujanovic, the
candidate of coalition "For the European Montenegro" won 83,9% of votes,
while independent candidate Dragan Hajdukovic obtained 5,8% of votes.

The rerun, according to the current legislative regulations, will be
held again within a deadline set by the Republic Electoral Commission
(RIK). Foreign monitors defined the electoral process in Montenegro as
the best conducted one so far, because there were almost no
irregularities by the time of closing polling stations.

DPS/SDP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FILIP VUJANOVIC ON THE RESULTS OF
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: A SUPPORT WHICH DESERVES MAJOR RESPECT

Podgorica - I am satisfied with the fact that, despite the immense
destruction by the opposition, the voters' turnout, even though it did
not provide the necessary percentage, it proved that Montenegro received
support in its constructive effort to turn towards the European Union -
said presidential candidate of coalition "For European Montenegro" Filip
Vujanovic.

Vujanovic underlined that Montenegro had to continue along the course it
had taken, in order to show that it was directed towards Europe, towards
its integration with the United Nations (UN) and the reforms which are
in the process of development.

I expect that those who have not voted this time will do so in a
fortnight, which will enable Montenegro to have a president.
