PM Kosumi:
Germany has made
steps forward in creation of state of Kosovo
The visit to
Germany was a very
important one, with multilateral positive effects said PM Kosumi upon his
return from the official visit in that country. During this visit, PM Kosumi had
a lot of meetings with German officials, including the Foreign Minister Joschka
Fischer, Interior Minister Otto Schieli, and the State Secretary at the Defence
Ministry.
According to PM Kosumi,
position of Germany about Kosovos
status is almost similar with that of other Contact Group countries; however,
according to him, Germany is discussing
possible modalities on how to reach the independence of Kosovo. In comparison
to some other countries, Germany has made some
steps forward towards creation of the state of Kosovo and of Kosovos
independence. They have several modalities that they have been discussing, and
of course, it is positive that they also think about modalities on how to reach
the independence, Mr. Kosumi said.
According to PM Kosumi, in all the meetings, there was
support expressed towards engagement of the Kosovo institutions for standards
implementation, and beginning of the decentralization process was requested.
Concerning decentralization, PM Kosumi said, The projects have been discussed
at the Assembly and the discussing procedures have been finished. If the
Assembly wants to discuss it again, I am willing to do so, but the first
discussion has been completed.
According to PMs Office
officials, the visit to Germany is important
also for the fact of the current involvement of
Germany in Kosovo, and
especially about its role as a member of the UN Contact
Group.
