HEADLINE: BOSNIAN SERBS TO DEMAND CHANGES TO STATE SYMBOLS, NATIONAL ANTHEM

Text of report by Bosnia-Hercegovina public radio on 1 April

The [Bosnian] Serb Republic [RS] parliamentary representative to the Bosnia
-Hercegovina [B-H] Constitutional Court,  Krstan Simic, has said that
representatives of the Serb people will demand before the Constitutional Court
changes to  the B-H coat-of-arms, flag and national anthem, as well as the
symbols of the B-H Federation.

We will ask for the Serb people's symbols to be represented in these symbols,
in the same way as Bosniaks  [Muslims] and Croats are demanding their own
symbols in the RS, Simic told journalists. He pointed out that the decision  of
the Constitutional Court [on changes to the law on coat-of-arms, flag and anthem
of the RS] was both expected and  unexpected, but that in any case it was final
and that the RS will, following this, have to look for solutions which  reflect
the situation in the constitutional and legal system.
