Probe reveals US army officers trained Georgian troops



Moscow - Investigations into the case of assault on
South Ossetia have established that US army officers
conducted training and drills with Georgian troops
prior to the invasion, the second deputy head of the
military investigative department of the Russian
General Procecutor's Office's Investigative Committee
Dmitry Shalkov has announced. 

He also pointed out that the Georgian side possessed
maps made with the help of pictures made from
satellites indicating the positioning of Russian
peacekeeping posts. 

Meanwhile, according to investigators' data, Georgia
does not have satellites of its own from which such
pictures could be taken.

Russian investigators announce timeline of events in
S. Ossetia 


Moscow  - The Investigative Committee of the Russian
General Prosecutor's Office has revealed the
chronology of the first days of events in South
Ossetia, second deputy head of the committee's
military investigations department Dmitry Shalkov
announced. 

Shalkov also presented the results of interrogations
of six Georgian servicemen, outlining the timeline of
Georgia's operations, troop numbers, ammunition used,
and the aims of the assault. 

It was also established during questioning that all
the training and drills with Georgian troops had been
conducted by US army officers.
