K.Serb assembly says "no" to EULEX
-[The Kosovo Serb assembly] wants the [Serbian]
Foreign Ministry to “energetically react to the
planned exodus of young Serbs being organized by
Western countries,” as this, they say, constitutes a
resumption of the ethnic cleansing begun in 1999.
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Kosovo Serb assembly has
announced that the EULEX mission must not replace
UNMIK.
“Since the EULEX mission has already been deployed in
parts of Kosovo without any relevant legal basis, the
Kosovo Serb parliament stresses that EULEX must not be
allowed to extend into Serb municipalities and
villages, and that any attempt to do so will come up
against resistance from the Serb people in the
province,” reads a declaration from today’s session.
The assembly announces that “following the statement
by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic on EULEX’s
reconfiguration, a meeting must be arranged with him
as soon as possible to clarify such views.”
The assembly wants the government to meet its
financial obligations towards Serb Kosovo Police
Service officers, justice workers, customs and local
self-government personnel on a regular basis, in line
with the Action Plan.
The assembly wants the Kosovo Ministry to clarify its
“position towards employees in Serbian state
institutions, who are also on the payroll of the
self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo.”
It wants the Foreign Ministry to “energetically react
to the planned exodus of young Serbs being organized
by Western countries,” as this, they say, constitutes
a resumption of the ethnic cleansing begun in 1999.
