"Russia unhappy with Kosovo situation"

-"It is inacceptable to conduct a policy that
characterized the time when the Munich agreement was
signed. The violent break-up of the country cannot be
allowed.”
-Moscow did not support the Montenegrin and Macedonian
decisions regarding Kosovo, because they did not
contribute to regional stability nor to the legal
settlement of the issue.
“I am deeply convinced that they made their decisions
under great pressure, and these countries have become
subject to international blackmail.”

GRACANICA -- Russian ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandr
Konuzin says that Russia is not happy with the current
situation in Kosovo.

After talks with the Serb leadership of the Pristina
municipality in Gracanica, elected at the May 11 local
elections, Konuzin said that Russia considered the
EULEX Mission to be illegal, adding that UNMIK was
obliged to act in line with UN Security Council
orders.

The ambassador said that Moscow’s position regarding
Kosovo remained unaltered, and that Moscow would keep
supporting Serbia in its efforts to prevent the
illegal break-up of the country.

"It is inacceptable to conduct a policy that
characterized the time when the Munich agreement was
signed. The violent break-up of the country cannot be
allowed,” Konuzin said, adding that Russia would help
Serbia to resolve the Kosovo issue legally.

Konuzin said that Moscow would continue to provide
strong political, moral and humanitarian assistance to
Serbia.

He added that he had met with UNMIK and KFOR
representatives, emphasizing that the the most
important thing was that the Serbs and their legal
representatives were heard, when it came to the
situation and living conditions.

Konuzin said that Moscow did not support the
Montenegrin and Macedonian decisions regarding Kosovo,
because they did not contribute to regional stability
nor to the legal settlement of the issue.

“I am deeply convinced that they made their decisions
under great pressure, and these countries have become
subject to international blackmail,” Konuzin said.
