KOSOVO: MORE THAN 48,000 SERBS SIGN ANTI-EULEX PETITION

(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 19 - A delegation of Serbs in Kosovo has
delivered a petition with 48,373 signatures asking for the withdrawal of the
EULEX mission from Kosovo, to Serbian president Boris Tadic. According to
the Serbian community in Kosovo, EULEX is not neutral and its operations do
not conform to resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council. After nearly a
year in the territory, the petition underlines, the European mission has
demonstrated a desire to carry out the Martti Ahtisaari plan in favor of
Kosovòs independence. The anti-EULEX petition was also given to the Russian
ambassador in Belgrade with a request for it to be given to President Dmitri
Medvedev, scheduled to visit Belgrade tomorrow. (ANSAmed).
