Belgrade – Hashim Thaci, actual Kosovo Prime Minister and Ali Ahmeti, political
leader of Albanians in Macedonia in 1999 were in the top leadership of an
illegal secret service SIK (Kosovo Intelligence Service), ‘Blic’ learns from
sources close to the investigation.

At the time of the NATO air strikes, the SIK was led by Azem Sulja.
Intelligence service was led by Kadri Veseli Fera and counter-intelligence
service by Dzavid Haljiti Zeka. In the latter one, one of the leading figures
was Hashim Thaci.
‘The actual Kosovo Prime Minister was prepared for politics at the SIK. His
party was formed on October 14, 1999 while still working at the SIK. The same
situation is with Ali Ahmeti who led the SIK branch for Macedonia. He then
became military commander of Albanian armed forces in Macedonia. His party
(Democratic Union for Integration) participated in the power, too’, our source
says.
Apart from Macedonia and Albania, the SIK had its branch office in Switzerland
led by Ekrem Jashari and Sami Drmaku.
‘The office in Switzerland has the task to collect donations from Albanians in
the West European countries and transfer money to the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Human and drug trafficking, weapons and other goods smuggling were chief
sources of financing. Albanians working abroad were racketeered with 3 percent
of their income’, ‘Blic’ source says.
According to data from the BIA White book 900 million German Marks were
transferred to Kosovo and Metohija from 1996 to 1999. Half of the money
originated from sale of drugs.
In Kosovo the SIK had ten departments. One of them was known as Department for
collaborators. The task of that department was to kill and frighten Albanians
loyal to Serbia.
There was also Department for Serbian enclaves. The task of it was to force
Serbs leave by permanent pressure on them, but also to prevent their return. As
early as in 1999 a department for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja was formed
and it was preparing climate for conflicts that erupted in 2001. There was also
such department for Macedonia.
The SIK also had a department for propaganda both outside Kosovo and in it and
even department for finance and donations and department of reputable people
for the defense of war interests.
Especially interesting is the Department for The Hague. Nezimi Blaca, former
member of the SIK execution team recently spoke about that department. He has
accused then chief of the secret service Azem Sulja and his successor Dzavid
Haljiti to have ordered killings and frightening of witnesses of the Hague
Tribunals’ prosecution in court trails against the KLA.
According to the BIA, Haljiti organized in Tirana in 1997 murder of the first
and second FARK commanders Ahmet Krasnici and Tahir Zemaj in January of 2003,
the second one the key witness in court trial against Ramush Haradinaj released
by the Hague Tribunal due to lack of witnesses.
Sulja was defense minister while Haljiti was Kosovo deputy prime
