A LETTER ADDRESSED TO
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA, BORIS TADIC

Respected president,

We are reminding you that next month it will be 15 years ago since the
banishment of the Serbian people from the Republic of Serbian Krajina and
Croatia. The banishment is carried out by Croatia, when our country was under
UN protection; that protection was also guaranteed by Serbia and Montenegro. In
case if Croatia conducts aggression on the territory of R. S. Krajina, Serbia
and Montenegro guaranteed that they would take actions against the aggressor.
On 1 May 1995 and 4 August 1995, the Republic of Croatia launched an attacked
on the Republic of Serbian Krajina [UN protected zone], murdered Serbian
civilians and expelled 80% of the Serbian population. The UN, Serbia and
Montenegro did not intervene and do not demand from Croatia to restore the
consequences of the ethnic of cleansing and genocide against the Krajina Serbs.
We are reminding you on the fact that the civil war in Yugoslavia [from 1991
to 1995] was caused by the decision adopted by the Croatian parliament in
December 1990, which contained that the Serbs will irregularly be deprived from
their state building rights. The Serbs were reduced from a constitutional
nation to a national minority. Fascist measures [murdering, ethnic cleansing
and assimilation] from were introduced against the Krajina Serbs. Croatia
obtained the property of the expelled Serbs and imposed laws, which prevent the
Serbs from returning to their homes.
Croatia and Serbia ratified an agreement on the return of the expelled Serbs to
their homes and their civil rights; the Republic of Croatia is not respecting
that agreement, while Serbia is not protesting against Croatia’s attitude. It
is a shame for every Serb and citizen of the Republic of Serbia – regardless of
his heritage or nationality – that the representatives of Serbia are not doing
anything to internationalize the Croatian crimes of genocide and ethnic of
cleansing against the Krajina Serbs.

These days the president of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic, is visiting regions of
Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and is expressing his remorse towards the
victimizes Serbs, Croats and Muslims. He is trying to express good intentions
of the Republic of Croatia, but he is not mentioning the fact that Croatia
conducted crimes of genocide against the Serbs in the Republic of Serbian
Krajina. Nobody is obligating Croatia to restore the consequences of those
crimes. That obligation can be determined by the UN’s court in the Hague and
Ivo Josipovic is doing everything to avoid the opening of a process about
Croatia’s:

- banishment of 800.000 Serbs.

- murdering of Serbs.

- violation of Serbian civil rights and private property.

- obligation to return 50.000 apartments to Serbs in Croatian cities.

- expelling of a Serbian family from its apartment in Zagreb, so that
Croatia’s prime minister, Jadranka Kosor, can move into that apartment.

- Etc.

Ivo Josipovic is trying to get your support in order to gain legitimacy for the
Croatian [continuous] genocide against the Krajina Serbs. You should reject
that odd idea of the Croatian president. He would then automatically classify
you into the category of those who are responsible for the crimes of genocide;
the crime of genocide must not be hidden and must be punished. Genocide does
not age, even in case if you the president of Serbia would help Croatia to
avoid an eventual process against Croatia. In that case, you would be a
participant in those crimes. The Republic of Serbia must not withdrew the
lawsuit against the Republic of Croatia at the international court of justice
in the Hague, because only the Republic of Serbia is able to that. The
government of RSK would like to do that, but the UN would probably reject its
accusation. This because the Republic of Serbian Krajina is not recognized as
an UN country, regardless the fact that it has been recognized by UN SC
resolution 743.

Respected president,

In front of the Serbian nation, the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and the
domestic and international media, we are begging you not to withdraw the
lawsuit against the Republic of Croatia, because nobody has the right to
forgive the genocide and crime against peace – Croatia committed those crime
openly and merciless.

This letter has a character of an open discussion.

The government of the Republic of Serbian Krajina

Milorad Buha and Rajko Lezajic
