American Airlines cracks down on portable chargers, following Southwest in an 
effort to reduce in-flight fire risk

American Airlines says it will begin restricting the use of portable chargers 
during flights next month, following crosstown rival Southwest Airlines with a 
move it says will “support safety on board while ensuring our customers 
continue to have the ability to charge when on the go.” The new policy, which 
takes effect May 1, limits customers to two portable chargers, each of which 
cannot exceed 100 watt hours, according to a statement the airline shared with

American Airlines to sell $1.14 billion in bonds for 32 planes

American Airlines Group Inc. on Monday is selling $1.14 billion of bonds 
financing a group of planes. The airline is offering notes in two parts, with 
the longer portion having an average life of 7.7 years, according to a person 
with knowledge of the matter. The securities are a type of debt known as 
enhanced equipment trust certificates, collateralized by 32 new and existing 
American Airlines planes. The longer-dated notes, a $905.04 million offering, 
are initially being discussed as yielding somewhere around 5.625%. Yash Roy &
