Alan, we are already going gold with the 9.0, but please let my
questions go back to the poster, so that the problem (which I cannot
reproduce) can get fixed as an errata or update. Or send him my personal
e-mail address, one of (or both)

    [EMAIL PROTECTED]
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]

so that I can resolve the problem with him via e-mail, without him
needing to reveal his e-mail address on the Cooker list.

Original poster, please do the following:

Can you try to run Printerdrake without MCC around it, by typing
"printerdrake > /tmp/debug.log 2>&1" in a terminal window where you are
"root"? Does the problem occur again? When Printerdrake hangs or
crashes, send me the /tmp/debug.log file and the /var/log/syslog file.

If Printerdrake works without problems now, start the Control Center
from the command line, also as "root":

drakconf > /tmp/debug2.log 2>&1

and when it hangs again, send the file /tmp/debug2.log and also
/var/log/syslog.

In addition send me your files

/etc/cups/cupsd.conf
/etc/cups/printers.conf
/etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd

    Till
