Can you try to set up the scanner manually? The driver is "mustek_usb", according to
http://sane.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=mustek&model=&bus=any
So add a line containing only "mustek_usb" to the /etc/sane.d/dll.conf file, take care that your /etc/sane.d/mustek_usb.conf file is not empty (put in the line "usb 0x055f 0x0001" if so), and load the "scanner" kernel module with "modprobe scanner". Then you can start "xsane" or every other scanning program and your scanner should be recognized. Do not run "scannerdrake".

Strange - I'm on the same list and I got the picture. It basically says that the scanner is not in the database - do I want to configure manually. When I click YES - it does nothing - same with NOLet me know if you need more info. Can you make the image available on a web server or send it directly to me? Or you post your problem on the SANE developmenmt mailing list on http://www.mostang.org/sane/ It is probably a new bug introduced in SANE 1.0.9.
