The driver (HPIJS from http://hpinkjet.sf.net/) is made by HP. It even does not fully support the printer (driver resolution: 600x600 dpi, printer resolution 1200x600 dpi). So you can expect an even better quality in the future, when a new version of HPIJS comes out (I will make new printer driver RPMs then).
But I did also my part on it, I am maintaining Foomatic (http://www.linuxprinting.org/, the software and database to integrate the driver with CUPS) and nearly all of the current printerdrake, including fully automatic non-interactive print queue generation.

I was just given a cheapy HP Deskjet 3420 as a gift. The former owner was tired of trying to get it set up in M$. I plugged it in (USB), fired up Printerdrake and then watched the results. That silly little printer was set up about five times faster than M$ and with better quality than he had ever achieved.
I am very impressed;-)) Keep up your excellent work.
