Here's what we've got coming up this week: Site Visit - TOMORROW Our site visit with the Fund for Southern Communities<http://www.fundforsouth.org>had to be rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30, at 7 pm. Please come to the shop and turn a wrench. Show the Fund how amazingly popular we are, and how desperately we need their financial support.
Halloween Hayrides - WEDNESDAY Sopo is responsible for "Greening" EAV-O-Ween, our annual Halloween neighborhood festival in East Atlanta. Help us pilot our bicycle-pulled hayrides for the kiddos from 6 pm until 8 pm. I'll bring face paint. We can be zombie bike mechanics (We want your CHAAAAAAAINNNNS! Get it?). Rising Appalachia Show - SUNDAY Sopo's favorite band, Rising Appalachia<http://www.risingappalachia.com/index.htm>, has invited us to staff an info table at their show on Sunday, November 4. Here are the details: CONCRETE PANDEMONIUM an evening to bridge the gap between artists and activists EYEDRUM GALLERY 9pm- ? $ 5-25 suggested donation hosted by Rising Appalachia showcasing some fine spoken word artists, dancers, musicians, local, non-profits, and general mayhem makers. We need YOU to volunteer and/or help us buy tools for the shop! We need your volunteer support during shop hours! We need folks who can help with repairs, and we REALLY need folks who want to learn how to do repairs. If you want to learn, here are things you can do in the shop that would be mutually beneficial: *sorting parts *stripping bikes *completing basic repairs on almost complete bikes *assisting a volunteer mechanic If you've been putting off volunteering because you don't think you know enough, we especially need you. Please let us know what we can do to help you learn! We have an urgent need for a few tools.. a whole set of Park Tool Freewheel tools, more chain tools (both road and bmx), and pin spanner replacement pins in particular. Please let me know if you can help us out with that! Any area bicycle shop will place an order for us, and Outback Bikes helps us out with a discount.
