Hiya, folks. A few quick updates for you! * BIKE REPAIR 101* Sopo volunteers Emily and Kira are providing us with a two night *Bike Repair 101* course at the Shop on Sunday, 7/20 and Monday, 7/21 (7 pm until 10 pm). Day One includes tires, cables, and brakes, and Day Two includes bearings, gears, and truing. Suggested Donation: $0 - $10. While Emily and Kira will give us the lesson, we're going to need some extra volunteers to help demonstrate. Please let us know if you're coming to learn or help! * EAST ATL STRUT AUCTION* Sopo organizes and benefits from the *East Atlanta Strut Auction* (Saturday, 9/20). The Strut is our annual neighborhood festival, and the auction is a great opportunity for you to support the shop AND get the word out about your craft or business. If you'd like to donate to the auction, go HERE<http://www.eastatlantastrut.com/silentauction.html>. Of course, everyone should come out and party. The Strut is a good time. * SOPO BENEFITS FROM DONATIONS MADE AT SEVANANDA* Hungry for natural food and feeling generous? This month, Sopo is Sevananda's<http://www.sevananda.coop/retailer/store_templates/shell_id_1.asp?storeID=C5G13S77A6GB8P0JT1P2Q4XBHR8BFXX2> Be The Change<http://www.sevananda.coop/retailer/store_templates/ret_custom_page2.asp?storeID=C5G13S77A6GB8P0JT1P2Q4XBHR8BFXX2>organization, which means that you can donate to Sopo at the register, and *Sevananda will match your donation by 25%*. If 60 of our friends kick in 5 bucks each, Sev will throw in $75, and that's rent and utilities for one month! Go to Sev and see the excellent display made by Sopo volunteer Betsy...it includes a life size three dimensional Sopo sheep. Seriously. * THINGS WE NEED* Want to buy your favorite community bike repair shop a present? We can always use ORANGE HAND CLEANER (available at any hardware store), RAGS, TUBES, PATCH KITS, and DESSERTS (wrenching makes us hungry).
