Hi, friends.

It's time for Sopo to build an official Board of Directors! All along,
we've been operating with an ad hoc board comprised of volunteers who wished
to be involved with organizational issues. Our goal is to maintain this
spirit of real community representation as we encourage wider participation.

We've outlined our values and expectations of our board at a recent
strategic planning retreat. The short version is:
The Sopo board will be empowered by our community and support our community
members and activities. The board will have short and regular meetings,
handle financial issues, be diverse and representative, build relationships
with other organizations, preserve our mission and shop culture, and ensure
our sustainability.

If you are interested in being a part of the board OR in shaping the board
without actually being on it, please join us at
