80 scholarships to study in Italy More than 80 scholarships are available exclusively at the QS World Grad School Tour in India this month. 13 Italian universities travelling with the tour are providing financial aid for talented Indian students wishing to undertake graduate study in Italy. The Invest your Talent in Italy initiative is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UnionCamere and ICE. UK unis continue to produce high quality reserach The recently published Research Assessment Exercise has confirmed that 87% of all research conducted in UK universities is regarded of 'international quality', according to the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). Saskatchewan eases the way for intern'l students International students may find it easier to qualify for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), which fast-tracks applicants to permanent residency in the western Canadian province, after changes to the program were announced last month. Since SINP was established, 158 international students have already been nominated to become permanent Saskatchewan residents.
New opportunities with US change of attitude After years of antipathy to the use of education agents, US universities are beginning to embrace them as an integral part of their international student recruitment policies. Through the American International Recruitment Council, students interested in studying in the USA will be able to receive top quality advice from agents subscribing to a new code of practice.
Online learning more popular than ever The latest results of the Sloan Survey of Online Learning indicate that enrolments on distance learning programs have topped four million students in the US alone. The report also indicates that international growth is likely to be greater in the coming years due to the economic downturn and more students wishing to access international study programs from home.
