Try to change the Locale in the Preferences.

Not really. There is an ATA driver in the work that will apparently lets you
use Compact Flash (with PCMCIA adapter) and other similar cards, but it's
not ready for prime time yet.

Any X-Jack would do.

You're pretty limited with a 130. Newtscape might work, but I don't know how
well. You will need to install 'Newton Internet Enabler' (NIE) 1.1, probably
on UNNA.

eBay? BTW, based on what you mention, you would have been much better with a
2100. They go for around $125 to $150 USD on eBay depending on the condition
and the included accessories. With a Newton OS 2.1-based Newton, like the
2100, you  have access to NewtonWorks, which includes QuickFigure Works that
you can have for free.

BTW, if you want to increase the chance of getting answers to the questions
I didn't reply to, please join NewtonTalk <http://www.newtontalk.net/>. It
has over 1000 subscribers, so someone there will likely have an answer to
your unanswered questions...
