Seriously though, I'm ditching the Marantz under the premise that "the best recording device you have is the one in your pocket". I'm moving towards an iPhone-based recording system and using the $$ from selling the Marantz to buy the pistol grip and wind shield for my shotgun mic. That said, the Marantz is one awesome recording deck- with 2 xlr inputs, various other line-in capabilities, and great editing on the fly features. I've left it in the field overnight to record dawn chorus and never had it fail on me. Of course, it all comes down to what you intend to do with your recordings. cheers David ________________________ David A.
