Hello List, I am new to opensolaris and coming from a Suse environment things are a bit different. Could someone point me to a nfs4 server setup howto on opensolaris. The problem I am having is when other opensolaris clients connect to the nfs4 share the user permissions are nobody:nobody instead of the actual user:group names. There must be another detail I am missing. Many thanks in advance. James _______________________________________________ nfs-discuss mailing list [email protected] James, Your idmapping domains are different. For Linux, this would be configured in /etc/idmapd.conf and for OpenSolaris it can be found in /etc/default/nfs . You can check the values in OpenSolaris via: cat /var/run/nfs4_domain If they don't match on client and server, then you have the problem. ~~~~ Thank you Tom, for your reply. That will help. Do you know of a resource that could instruct me on the proper setup for nfs4 on opensolaris? I have the OpenSolaris Bible, however there is scant info on setup and implementation. Thanks again for your help. James _______________________________________________ nfs-discuss mailing list [email protected]
