If you have a patch you want folks to look at but don't want me to merge, put WIP or FYI at the beginning of the title.
People will respond appropriately with reviews but I will (with a reasonably high degree of confidence) not merge it. For those reviewing such patches, you may want to comment without giving a +1 review, though if in your mind, the patch has truly become ready for merge, a +1 review might be a good way of indicating that. On the other hand just commenting as such should work also.
