Yes, 2.7 will be compatible with mimic, and likely with luminous as well, since features for Ganesha tend to be backported in Ceph.
The only major work I'm aware of coming for Ceph/Ganesha is HA on OpenShift/Kuberneties for FSAL_CEPH, and full in-place read/write for FSAL_RGW. I'm sure lots of little things will be added, as usual.
