This is an error message from nfsend daemon to prevent the system from getting
screwed up because of too long arguments. It's set to 512 bytes. You can prevent
getting this message, by using line breaks in the filter box, to split up the
filter
into more lines, or of course you can increase this limit. The important issue
is,
that the daemon is not flooded with unlimited amount of data.
As of the filters: nfdump itself is not limited to any length of filter other
than
available memory in the system. However, filters can be optimized for example
with
filter lists. Instead of 'host a or host b or host c or host ...' use IP lists
such as host in [ a b c ... ] which compiles in a much more efficient filter
code.
