Hi,

After successfully setting up a test machine with NFSen over the past
day with the help of fellow NFSen-ers out there I'm planning of
putting NFSen into production use. For this purpose I'm looking for
some hints on sizing the target machine:

Traffic profile: Two ISP Uplink routers with 100MBit and 50MBit uplink
bandwith plus two core Router/Switches (C6500) with ~30 VLAN
interfaces each that I'd like to track.

What should I consider for sizing?

How about diskspace?

Processor?

Memory?

BTW, target OS will be FreeBSD 7.x

Currently I've got two machines that come into mind:

o) Dual Pentium III 1,4GHz with 4GB RAM and ~150GB free space

o) 2x dual-core Opteron 2.2GHz, 16GB RAM with ~15GB free space

Wrt diskspace: How about having the diskspace used by NFSen
(i.e. where data is captured plus the web-part) on a NFS-accessible
filesystem? Any caveats?

Thanks much in advance for any clue,
-ewald
