The slowness is a bug in perl's 5.10 syslog module! Make sure you let guess
NfSen 1.3.2 the correct logging type or force it in nfsen.conf by setting it to
$LogSocket = 'native';
Do not set it to 'unix'. Alternatively replace the Sys::Syslog module in Perl
5.10
