Hi all,We just setup nfsen the other day and were experimenting setting up profiles to create different views of our data. I setup the profile according to the instructions in the user guide, but, data is not being populated and the graphs are all empty.
I created a profile "Internet" and defined two channels in that Profile: Internet and Internet2.
In doing so, the profile-stats/Internet directory appeared with the following files:
flows-day.png flows-year.png Internet-filter.txt packets-month.png profile.dat traffic-week.png flows-month.png Internet2-filter.txt Internet.rrd packets-week.png traffic-day.png traffic-year.png flows-week.png Internet2.rrd packets-day.png packets-year.png traffic-month.png
The png have no data graphed, the filters corresponding to Internet and Internet2 have been confirmed to return data when run against the live feed, and the profile.dat contains:
# name = Internet group = . tbegin = 1268769300 tcreate = 1268769869 tstart = 1268769300 tend = 1268832300 updated = 1268832300 expire = 0 maxsize = 0 size = 0 type = 6 locked = 0 status = OK version = 130 channel = Internet2:+:#FF0000:2:border channel = Internet:+:#0000FF:1:borderUsing rrdtool to dump one of the rrds, say Internet.rrd shows the data definitions and
<!-- 2010-02-14 14:55:00 EST / 1266177300 --> <row><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v><v> NaN </v></row>
for all values in the database. Looking at the logs, I see periodic messages: Mar 17 09:35:16 yawgmoth nfsen[21685]: Update profile Internet in group . with no obvious errors being reported.We're running on RHEL4, Linux XXXXXXX 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 15:51:48 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
nfsen 1.3.2, nfdump 1.6.1 rrdtool 1.2.30Outside of diving into the code and trying to figure out where things break down, I'm not sure what else to check. I figured someone on the list might have some experience troubleshooting this and could lend a much appreciated hand. This is a great tool that will add a lot of value to our environment, so, I hope I can work this issue out!
Thanks for your time reading this! ..Sean.
