Hi,
I was having the same issue, and asked rick hofstede for help. This is what
he did:
1) The PROFILEDATADIR variable set in NfSen's master configuration file
(/usr/local/nfsen/etc/nfsen.conf) was set to ${BASEDIR}/profiles-stat/".
Note the slash (/) as the last character of the string. This last slash was
an error and caused SURFmap to use an incorrect path to the source files.
The example string from Peter Haag, the developer of NfSen, does not contain
the last slash character either. I removed the last character, saved the
file and restarted the nfsen process. A backup of the old file is stored in
the same directory.
2) While debugging the problem I found a hardcoded reference to one of the
machines at our university. Since this reference is not valid in your setup,
it could never work.
3) A dummy filter was configured in SURFmap's configuration file, containing
the following IP address range "123.456/16". This is of course not a valid
address. As a consequence, nfdump caused an error, which was not visible in
SURFmap though.
