Yes - there are plans. However, in the meantime, you may use multiple profiler. 
NfSen can split the profiling task over
various profiles. You can define them in nfsen.conf:

# number of nfprofile processes to spawn during the profiling phase
$PROFILERS = 3;

This at least also uses the available CPUs and shares the load.
