We are using the following architecture to maintain HA for Nginx .

Machine1 { Keepalived -> LVS  } -> Nginx
Machine2 { Keepalived -> LVS  } -> Nginx .

VIP - managed by Keepalived
LVS with keepalived in HA , as layer 4 Load balancer
Nginx multiple machines .
