[nhibernate-development] Is forking and fixing now the appropriate way to submit patches?

I am planning to fix NH-2862 <https://nhibernate.jira.com/browse/NH-2862>(Proxy 
constructor issue); should I create my own fork of NHibernate and 
submit a pull request?
