Hi people! I guess one way to explore, is custom serialization in Remoting: http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10878_11-5139328.html http://stackoverflow.com/questions/761770/how-to-use-custom-serialization-during-net-remoting
Try to detect the lazy collections/objects at server, serialize them in a special way, so at client their are still collections, proxys, but when invoked, they call home again, to serialize and retrieve the rest of the information. I don't know if anyone alreade code such stuff. There is a project, but I don't know its status: http://code.google.com/p/remoting-nhibernate/ (I guess the author is working in WCF now, in one of the below links) Another way: go to Remoting via WCF, and write your own serializer. I don't have the link (something like this is in the second link above), but there is working code (uNhAddins? where?) about WCF and lazy loading serialization issues. This could be the neareset solution to your problem. And it could be adapted to use directly in Remoting, I guess. And yes, with more time, you could rewrite the app to be less "location transparent". But if you are in a hurry, custom serialization is a quick alternative.
