There are three (3) fields in the database which are not populated (i.e. are null). The update just populates these fields.
Could our mapping strategy be the problem: We have a purchase which has a 1-M relationship with purchase items in the database. However for the particular application, we have a "flattened entity" i.e. a purchase entity that contains most fields from the purchase table, and some from the purchase items table.
