Hello, I am using .NET 3.5, NHibernate 3.0 Alpha 2, and Oracle 10g. I have a class (RptSourceGroup) object with a handful of fields, but the main one is an IList of another object (RptSource). The RptSource object contains a byte[] field for a BLOB database column. I have run into an OutOfMemoryException being thrown during the
session.Save(group); call. This does not always occur but seems to happen, not surprisingly, when there is alot of byte[] data. For example, When I had a RptSourceGroup that contained 889 RptSources with a combined byte[] data size of around 79 MB (this represents 889 files from the file system), the save was successful 3 out of 4 times. When I had a RptSourceGroup that contained 921 RptSoruces with a combined byte[] data size of around 199 MB, it always produced an OutOfMemoryException. I believe that the OutOMemoryException occurs before any database calls are made (no rows created when the rollback was turned off). I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to help alleviate this exception or is it that I simply have too much data in my object for NHibernate to process. My alternative I guess is to manually insert the RptSource objects one-by-one into the database via a direct Oracle connection, but I want to avoid that at the moment. Any thoughts?
