This isn't exactly a feature of the new documentation, but any chance of
keeping up a copy of the documentation as of NHibernate 2.1 on NHForge for a
few months with a clear link to the 2.1 documentation from the top of the
3.0 version, and very clearly, very obviously marking the version number on
both? Of course, NH 2.1 is no longer supported, but it will take a while to
for people to get their projects updated to the new version of NHibernate,
and once the single linked version of the documentation gets bumped, it gets
a tougher to find documentation that is accurate for the prior version ("why
isn't this QueryOver feature working? it's not supported in 2.1? oh, I
should have noticed that tiny 3.0 at the top... oops. so where's the 2.1
docs then?").. I suppose making it harder to find 2.1 documentation is
encouragement to move to 3.0, but there are probably more user-friendly
forms of encouragement, and keeping up an older version wouldn't require
much upfront or ongoing work. Yes, there is version-specific documentation
bundled in the source, but that's probably not the go-to location for
reference documentation that most people are using.
