Hello there I'm using VB.NET and MySQL. I have a datetime attribute which has either a date or null in the database. In VB.Net the type of the variable is Date.
In case that I insert a new data set, I need for my attribute the value null. If I set this varbiable in VB.NET to "Nothing" or to DateTime.MinValue, the value of my variable is "#12:00:00 AM#". If I use the type SqlTypes.SqlDateTime, I'll get the error that the value has to be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM. In the next step I need the data set with the null datetime in VB.Net. But I get this "#12:00:00 AM#" instead of nothing/null. Does anybody know, how to set the attribute of the new data set to null and how to get the null/nothing value in VB.Net back?
