That's funny Stanley...I love Meguiars. I bought the 3 step line. Best
product I ever used.

Although I don't do it as often now, I started my first job in 1960
washi9ng cars ast a full service gaqs station. I received 50ยข a car, and it
was mostly Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles.Lincolns, etc. I could do about 3 cars an
hr, which was a lot of money back then, being as mimimum wage was less than
$1.00/hr.
I have always detailed cars, bikes, motorcycles, and done body work as well.
I do not use soap; I use water to rinse away the loose dirt, and a wool mit
or the like to wipe away the dirt that remains. Then, if it isd oxidized, I
use Meguiar fine cut cleaner and a buffing machine to cut through and bring
back the shine.
You take the oils out of the paint using soap, even mild soap, which should
not dry on the surface if you do use it, because soap leaves the surface porous
asnd therefore open to further oxidation, and suibject to environmental damage,
like chemicals in the air, road grime, etc.
There are exotic waxes that cost more than Meguiar, but they usually
contain the same main ingredient: caranuba.
I use Meguiar on my 250.
Here in La. we have lots of rain and I have ridden her to work in the rain
many many times. I have to bring some extra socks and my shoes to work in a
backpack, and wear rainboots to get there mostly dry. Anyway. it had remained
well protected until left neglected and exposed to the weather this past winter
and summer. Now it is in serious need of attention...

OK boys and girls, next question. When I wash my Vespa Grand Tourisimo I
just go to the car wash and use the soap wand without pressure and always aim
down. The engine is up under the body and never gets wet and I can get all the
dust and bird poo off the body ad fly screen in a $1.25 cycle. The Nighthawk
has all sorts of exposed parts, all gettting dirty and grimy all the time.
What's my best bet for washing? What does everyone use for things like grease
grim? I have a few washing solutions made for my bicycles, something like
that? I live in the desert next to a field so everything gets dusty and grimy.
May sound like a big duh, but hey I want to do it right!

    Susan
