I just noticed that this conversation now has two Kyles and Two Grahams, now all we need is one more hotrodmamma -Kyle #1 On Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 10:16 AM, Graham Rogers <graha...@ptd.net> wrote: Why don't you try air side panels Kyle - they never need cleaning, it's easy to see what's behind them and they don't need attaching, Graham On Mar 11, 2009, at 9:27 AM, Kyle Munz wrote: I'm going to make new side panels out of paper mache, I'll let you know how that goes... -Kyle On Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 9:24 AM, Creative Residential Designs <finderskeep...@qwest.net> wrote: Yes, but in this case the 550 panel is substantially smaller that a 650 panel. I envision hacking the thing in two both directions and then re-studding it too....hmm. An experiment that I will wait for the results on. (P.S...I have both a 550 and a 650 in my shop. I would be willing to measure the 550 panel for our friend here and maybe he can manufacture one.) The rearward stud on the left side busted from... stuff, and i lost the piece too. I waited it out for the OE rubber grommet piece to come in the mail. I went to Motorcycles Unlimited, in Stanton, CA and found a similar, but longer stud off an old Yamaha I think. I stuck the hack- job together using some bent welding rod for support, and Permatex 2- part plastic weld epoxy and my Dremmel for a custom fit. The grommet was like two or three dollars and I had the other stuff so this repair, although time consuming, is super low cost. For alteration of body panels... good luck hotrod..
