Hi All,

A few months ago I wrote in about a occasional stalling problem which
turned about to be a venting issue for the gas tank. Much discussion
ensued regarding swollen gaskets and modern gas formulation. Well this
weekend I found the real source of my trouble. As reported previously
it was indeed a venting problem with the gas tank, however my bike is
a California model with a PVC system and the cap is supposed to seal.
The tank is vented through the charcoal canister. At least it used to
be. Some previous owner removed the charcoal canister and being the
master mechanic he/she was decided that the vent line that ran to the
tank was not needed and plugged it.

I ran a new vent line to atmosphere( which is what Dennis had
recommended, but I was able to use the original vent fitting at the
tank) and my stalling days are over.
