My son has a theory I haven't heard expressed before: (Pick your own numbers/percentages):
75% of the people don't want to be responsible for themselves, and want to be taken care of/"protected" by someone else (the Govern-ments) 20% of the people want to be left alone to determine and provide for themselves. (They're probably riding cycles and packin' heat) 5% of the people want to tell the other 95% of the people what they should/must do. (They aspire to high political power, and want to take away the right and ability to self determine, self-protect and resist.)
