The Hondaline case guards are a rather close fitting affair. I have them on both of mine, the rear racks too. The MJ1 center code is right, I think.

They had "MJ1 MS22" stamped on the bottom, looks like a honda part number. I'm in the process of painting them black now. http://munz.kicks-ass.net/nighthawk/?p=269 I think we have all of the global warming this year. It's been 100+ several days lately. To: [email protected] Date: Sunday, July 12, 2009, 1:19 AM Just a minor "flaw" ;) Speaking of which, I took a look at some other forks in yet another salvage yard today. They were in worse shape than the first set I saw. I've attached a few pics of the best ones I've found so far if anyone wants to share their opinions. They want $200 for them and are not interested in any kind of trade for the 650 forks I currently have. I'd also have to figure the price of rebuilding the 700 forks too. There's one more salvage yard in Houston that might have some, I'm also keeping an eye on eBay. Personally I think $200 for a set of forks that need to be rebuilt is a bit high. Btw, took the 650 forks out for a nice 60 mile jaunt today. The weather was down in the mid 90s with 74% relative humidity. The bike didn't overheat but I started to. -Kyle On Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 11:34 PM, Dennis Hammerl <[email protected]> wrote: The name does include the word "lovers" and indeed we have a somewhat high standard. Still no offense intended. In the world of buyer beware, many members submit URL's to listings and solicit opinions. Funny how we now get a more complete disclosure of condition. If you were looking to buy it instead of sell it, you might find a critique a welcome thing. I don't want any member to spend foolishly. Your bike is indeed a collectible item. Kyle M just bought one and has some regret about a "flaw" he missed. It's too hard to cope with the most common of problems with a 20+ year old bike that has a shortage of spare parts. Nobody's picking on you or your bike, everybody gets the same. Stick aound and see what goes on here. Get to know the players and keep a sense of humor. Most of us have some real dedication to these bikes. As a newcomer to your website, I certainly did not expect the reception I got!! I thought, as Nighthawk Lovers, someone would be interested in a rare 750S. After reading the article in Motorcycle Classics (July/August , 2008) about how this model is the new classic, I thought someone might want one, and who better to ask than Nighthawk Lovers? Instead, I got criticism that the bike was not washed (my house needs vacuuming and dusting too!), that I didn’t take good enough pictures (sorry, am no photographer here!!), plus a plethora of snide remarks about your predictions of what may or may not be wrong with the bike! I am too busy out learning to ride my other bike (at 54, finally fulfilling a dream!), meeting new people, building a business, helping others fulfill their dreams, making a life, to worry about a little dirt on a motorcycle! Sorry!! Yes, as you saw, it does need new tires. The right front fork seal is leaking, and as a result the right front brake pad has oil on it and needs replacing too. Contrary to Mr. Dennis’ comment, there is no rust on the bike, just a paint bubble, easily fixed. (What are headers?) Other than that, there are some minor things the shop said needed doing to safety it: the throttle sticks, the right front signal is loose, the front brake switch is not working, neutral light and gear indicator are not working, and horn button is missing. However, it runs amazingly! Lots of power (way too much for me as a first-time rider, which is why I am selling it!), lots of spunk! I am in Guelph, Ontario, if anyone would like to see the bike. The O.B.O. after the suggested price was there for a reason! I will accept Canadian or US dollars! As my mentor says, “I accept all forms of cash!!” Make me an offer! But, as I said, I certainly was taken aback by the blast I received at the posting!! You might want to consider being pleasanter to your newcomers…….. Go out for a ride on your bikes and spend less time criticizing others on the computer!! Life is too short so get out and ENJOY it!!
