I've used the SOS or NEP "throttle lock" for years-about $30-works great.....

Hi, New member here. I usually hang out at the cb750 yahoo group. Just

about every weekend spring through fall I do 250 to 500 mile day rides

on my 92 cb750 Nighthawk. I did a 600 this year to Hilton Head island

SC. I usually ride to the Western NC mountains around Rosman,

Robinsville, Nantahala, Cherokee, Blue Ridge Pkwy, Fontana, Deals Gap,

Sylva etc. and the trips average around 350 miles.

Minor butt soreness with my Airhawk seat. Without it pain after around

170 miles. I use the same seat on my Yam FZ1 for long trips.

I also have the highway bars and pegs, Progessive suspension front and

rear, foam grips with a Crampbuster. The Crampbuster setup is what

keeps the handlebar vibration from taking it's toll on long highway

rides. I drilled a hole out at the end of the lever and have a looped

camera strap clipped to it. I can just grasp the strap or put a couple

fingers through it and control the throttle with my hand resting

against my tankbag or knee. On the left grip I have a sock tied and

knotted that hangs down about 6" or so to hold on to - not having to

touch the handlebars allot of the time helps hugely with how tired you

get on a long trip. Plus, holding the strap and sock, I am able to sit

up straight and allows for lots of seating positions when you move

your feet around to all three sets of pegs. I find the passenger pegs

are the most comfortable most of the time as it keeps an arch in my

back. The more riding positions you can come up with the further you

can ride before burning out.

I also have a small wooden wedge, painted black, tiewrapped around my

right mirror that is used for a throttle control - just wedge it

between the right grip and the front brake reservoir.

I know, that doesn't sound safe but I haven't had a problem getting

back to a normal riding position yet when needed. When I get into

serious twisties I just roll the Crampbuster out of the way and ride

old school.

I could post a pic if anyone wants to see what the setup looks like.
