Progess so far on cam chain tensioner repair.

I was able to get the cam chain tensioner out and remove the old
spring today.

I measured the spring constant (force and deflectoin) for the old and
new springs. The old spring was had a srping constant of 1/10th the
new spring. So at the same displacement the new spring will provide
10X the force (that's huge). SO - this is good news as it is looking
like the spring is the cause of the chain noise - time will tell.

The cylinder head cover slipper didn't have any marks on it at all and
the front slipper has very negligle wear on it (you have to look close
to even see - just a short mark about 0.005" deep).

The cam sprocket is interesting - the timing marks are not
perpendicular to the axis that goes through the bolt holes - see
attached.

Well - next step is to bleed the tappets and I will be doing that
tommorrow - thanks to the tip from Dennis H. (don't need to wait for
the tappet bleeding tool).

With any luck i can get it finished tomorrow.

Paul
