thanks for your reply Jason. I wanted to tell you that the slides on all four
carbs move up and down with the throttle.they do flutter a bit though, but I
figure thats just cause its only running on two cylinders. If the hose was
clogged would they still move , and could the fuel not come through even with
the slide open..

2 carbs are connected with hose on top that needs outside

atmospheric pressure to lift plunger that lifts needle that allows fuel from

main jet. wasp built nest inside open tube. thats just a guess.

  -carb checking

yes im sure that my carb job is the problem..it runs just

slightly better than it did before !! but yes the 3 and 4 plugs look like
they

are new . no gas or oil or carbon on them at all .As for the carb cleaning, I

took them off the bike then removed the bowls , unscrewed the 2 main jets and

blasted them out , removed the choke mechanisms and blasted them out, removed

the floats and needle valves and blasted them out . gave every thing inside

and out a good cleaning. I didnt seperate the carbs or remove the tops of the

carbs as I was affraid of tearing A diaphram ...this carb was so nasty

that I actually found A wasp in 2 of the bowls...anyway this is bizarr

to me because I have suction, spark and fuel in the bowls but the fuel must
not

be gettin through to the head..

I didn't want you to start removing anything yet, the cam

cover is a bitch to reseal. As long as the carbs are pulling air in and

you have fuel in all the bowls, and there is ignition to all plugs..

That is what it takes to make an engine run. Now what is wrong with

yours ? I can't imagine any bike not responding to a blast of carb

cleaner. Are the plugs for 3,4 dry ? What about 1,2 ?
Just to be

blunt, I suspect your carb clean is flawed. I think you said you did
not

remove them from the "runner" so no linkage was disturbed. How far into

the carbs did you go ? What did you remove from them to clean ? Remove

the slides ? Never a good idea. I really foul set of carbs takes many

hours of work to get all the details.

yes, their is fuel in all bowls.so far I have

cleaned and visually inspected carbs, installed ngk plugs and checked

to make sure ex.pipes were clear of debris.and removed valve cover

,turned over, and that all looked fine,no broken cam..also shined A

light in the r. two cyls.to see that the piston has no holes and
looks

ok,but I dont have A comp.tester..I did notice when cleaning the
carbs

that when i had them all apart I could spray carb. cleaner thru the

choke passages and it woud come out in A diff. place on all exept the

one on far right ?I never got that

cleared out!but even so

could that make both cyls. not run . and is their A trick to getting

that cleared. I found A good used carb set on ebay for 75$ it

looks ident. but its for A 700 cc 84 model !!! do you know if it will

          work on my 650 ??

Have you done a compression check ? Any serious

                problem would show. Start there.
Fuel in the bowls of all

carbs ? When it's idling, if you cover the right carb throats

with your hand, does it suck you in ? If it doesn't, you do
have

something very wrong. I believe I asked for details of your
work

so far.. carb work etc. These bikes share ignition on 1, 4 and

2,3 . The only things shared by the pairs on a side are fuel

flow and where the pipes join before the EQ.

I have an 84 NH 650.the right two

                  cylinders are cold.they are getting
good spark and vacuum

at idle, but im not sure there getting gas.is
there A way to

find out if its that before I go internal?? Im thinking
it

might be a broken cam because its two side by side cylinders

                  that
dont even get warm, and I can shoot A shot of ether in

                  those carbs
while idling and it makes no change in rpm at

                  all !!! any ideas ??
thanks

                  friend.
