Afnan, It doesn't sound like you've been thorough enough with the cleaning. A bike that has sat for that long is sure to have layer upon layer of varnish on the surfaces you can see, and just as much crud on those you can't.
Did you remove the carbs from the bike, completely dismantle each one and soak the pieces in carb cleaner overnight (maybe several overnights), then clean the orifices with wire to dislodge the softened sludge? Did you then blow them out with compressed air until you were certain they were surgically clean? Did you then replace all the rubber, springs and gasket parts? See what I'm getting at, here? We're talking like-new, pristine, immaculate clean, as opposed to simply, "I opened them up and cleaned them."
